Experience
I work as a Software Engineer at ALTEN Italy, where I am a part of the simulation group. I am currently dedicated to a long-term project for Leonardo Electronics, one of Europe's leading manufacturers in the defense industry.
- Developed and implemented complex logic simulations for naval applications, creating robust systems that model real-world vehicle behavior with high fidelity.
- Led a major refactoring initiative, modernizing legacy C/C++ code to C++17. This project significantly improved code stability and reduced memory leaks, enhancing the overall reliability and performance of our software.
- Authored comprehensive technical documentation using Doxygen and GitLab Markdown, ensuring project clarity and maintainability for both engineering teams and new hires.
- Presented product results and technical demonstrations to military industry clients. This involved translating complex technical information into clear, actionable insights and effectively communicating the value of our solutions to stakeholders
My research project was conducted with the ATLAS Collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the largest particle accelerator ever built. At the LHC, protons are accelerated and collided at high energy. My role was to analyze the data from these collisions to advance particle classification techniques and contribute to the goals of the ATLAS experiment.
- Conducted research on a high-energy physics project at CERN, developing GN2, a Graph Neural Network model, to improve particle classification within the ATLAS Collaboration.
- Engineered a data analysis pipeline using C++ and the ROOT framework to process massive datasets.
- Modeled and trained the GNN with PyTorch, performing exploratory data analysis using Python (NumPy, pandas).
- Managed computational resources by executing jobs on CERN's Linux-based clusters, leveraging Singularity for environment reproducibility.
- Versioning software using the CERN Gitlab instance.
